see into the side of the gearbox?

noticed a few little oil patches where i park so decided to have a look under the car and its coming out on the bottom of the gearbox but either i never realised or a bit has gone missing but i can see straight into the flywheel/clutch whatever it is 1st (you can tell im full of knowledge :D )

is this right or not shiny bit in middle of pic above  bar

Yea its normal to see inside there, you should have a thin metal guard to cover the flywheel, you might have that and a gap or it could be missing, either way you are just seeing your bell housing and clutch assembly in there which is nothing to worry about.

As for the oil, probably an oil seel, either the input shaft is leaking or just a driveshaft seal!  Its not ideal to be leaking like that and you should keep a close eye on it, check the levels!   if you are absolutly certain its the gearbox and not the engine and it gets quite bad it will be time for new oil seels, or even a recon box depending on the design of the box.

will be having a better look for the oil leak now its light outside :)
