Title: GTI Badges for the side trim on the exterior of the car
Post by: elthespaniard on 08 February 2008, 12:04
Iv got a mk 2 golf gti 16v, and iv just ordered the gti badges which are supposed to fit on the side trim on the front doors. The trim has no space to put the badges, do i have to buy a new trim which has the space to clim the badges on, or do i modify the trim i have now????

And also, do the badges replace that little strip of trim just in front of the door, or at the end of the trim were the door opens???

I really need some help here guys??

many thanks

What year is your GTI? The side GTI badges are for the '90 spec inwards trim. There is a space (recessed not-textured oblong shape at the end of them at the front edge on the doors. The GL models had the same trim, but instead of the GTI badge, they had a tetured plain badge with tiny squares. If you look at the car thread in the mk.2 Golf section, there will be some pics of the new 16V badges that I put on and you can see where they go from other pics of the car.
