march 07 ( brand new) 997 turbo in gt silver. :evil:

sold it and got the golf for day to day and a super mint M3 CSL....and put 45k back in the bank?

good descision as the golf is the best all round car i've ever owned.

Not got any pictures so here's a list:

Mk3 Golf 1.6 Rolling Stones SE
Ford Puma 1.7
Mk5 Golf 2.0 GT TDI

I have to say that the Ford Puma was a very good car  :embarassed:.  Not mega fast but a great drive.  I would have kept it if I had the money to buy the GT TDI outright.

Last car was a BMW 120d  :sick:

Handled well (GTI is just as good though IMHO), but poorly made, run out of puff easy and the worst depreciation Ive ever experinced  in a car. £8500 in 18 months. I can not put into words HOW much better the GTI and VW products are over some BMW products for quality.

Dad has 335i Coupe, £40k car and everytime he steps in mine he notes how much better the build quality is. Oh also, BMW paint quality is :sick:

Ok. Not my list of cars, but my moms:

1. Ford Escort (something from the dark ages)
2. Opel Corsa (First new car and loved the thing to bits)
3. Golf 3 VR6 (Hand me down and much hated until she found the accelerater)
4. BMW 3 Series (Time for some class... Class my @ss)
5. Mk5 Golf GTI (Yoohoo bringing back the VR6!!)

A good friend of mine has got a silver diesel anni, he absolutely loves it but it has done 90,000 miles and he is due a change but he cannot let it go. There is something about the car that I absolutely love, I would be sad to see it go  :cry:

Yeh miss it so much, had the MK2 at same time as the S2000 last summer,
it just wasnt getting used.

Curentlynotdrinving a GTI althogh have had one.The list as follows with brief comments!!
ROVER 214 S(first cr wot a heapof sh!te)
FORD FOCUS 1.8 ZETEC (good car first car to make me appreciate a decent chassis)
FORD MONDEO GHIA X 2.5 V6( also a decent car but lost a fortune on it)
VOLKSWAGEN BORA 130 DIESEL HIGHLINE(first brand new car loved it but a bit bora,boring lol)
VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT 130 DIESEL SPORT 4 MOTION!(this was the service managers demonstrartor at the local vw dealers and had EVERY extra and i mean EVERY one.Looked the dogs bollocks)
VOLKSWAGEN GOLF GTI MK5 (bought this brand new and can still feel the buzz and the looks i got driving it home i was the proudest geezer in the world)
VOLKSWAGEN R32 MK5(also brand new again what a buzz picking it up new and blipping them exhausts)
BMW M3 E46!! (thought i,d go to the dark side,all i can say i what a car for acceleration and performace,but i have 2 kids and the 2 door issue was a nightmare and the ride was rock,rock hard)
and finally back to yes you guessed it!!
VOLKSWAGEN GOLF R32 MK5 ( should never got rid of the first one,but hey you only live once a we learn by our mistakes!!!)

P.s, my local stealer has a brand new registered silver edtion 30 fully loaded including the lateset touch screen nav!! tempting.
What you tink guys?? can i live without that V6 noise???

I ask because I REALLY like how 335i coupe with M package looks like
I had a 330 M Sport before the gti and the build quality and finnish was far better than the vw,but as an all round package the gti's better. :smiley:

nice machine Jonathan,

I had an E46 05 plate M3 before my current mk5 R32.What a tool it was,put it this way it made a better driver out of me thats for sure,she had to go though for the sake of my 2 kids!!

I also had an E46 330i sport before the Golf, loved the way it looked, great interior but dynamically not as good as the Gti. Other cars I've had are:

Nova 1.2 - my first car and loved it !

Clio 1.2 (original type) - even better!

Polo 1.4 - can I have the Clio back?

Golf mk4 1.6 - as above

Alfa 147 selespeed - nice styling, great interior, dissapointing to drive. Quick steering + soggy suspension = crap!

BMW330i sport - getting there but handling a slight let down.

Golf Gti mk5 DSG- Best car yet for handling and performance, love the DSG. A few rattles though and interior average.

Ok here's my list i must be getting old looking at the first few

peugeot 504 2.0 petrol what a tank!

ford cortina 2.0 mk4 rusted away

ford cortina 2.0 mk5 good fun in the wet

ford sierra 1.6 lx boring

vauxhall nova 1.5 diesel 64mpg short of money

peugeot 306d turbo nice car felt quick at the time

peugeot 106gti a bit tinny but went well

renault clio 172 my first new car

renault clio 182 with cup supension possibly the best handling car i've owned,renault can teach vw a thing or two about steering feel

nissan 350z very nice but very unpractical

vw golf gti ed 30 only 1200miles so far so good ,apart from steering!

ps. I've only driven a Golf S as a hire car - and sat inside a sold, used, GTI and yesterday an ED30. Hopefully the GTI will live up to the hype. If not, well as a practical, cheap to run, family car - it's gotta be more fun than the A4. :)
