Nice one Mew....
turns out "mr X" is running a VR6 conversion!
Make VOLKSWAGEN
Model GOLF VR6 HIGHLINE
Engine Size 2792
Colour BLACK
Fuel PETROL
BodyStyle 5 DOOR HATCHBACK
Transmission MANUAL
Gears 5 SPEED
Car has only had 2 owners so must be a labour of love.
I have to say the lane traffic did not allow me pull next to him to compare the performance but the valver was comfortably holding nicely behind him! I thought it might have been a poorly mapped turbo or something as he did chuck out some smoke when trying to pull away!
His engine did sound nice tho!

I would say that is a mk3 matey if it comes up as a VR6 Highline as Highline is a trim level if I remember correctly. Never seen a mk2 past an K plate :)
-
Could have sworn it was a black MK2 dude!
Though, it was quite dark and his friggin bright lights blinded me when he went past!
Was curious as to what he was running sounded diff
Maybe I should post this on the mk3 section?
Unchartered territory!

I know of one Mk2 on an L plate, came up for sale last year (Oak Green). Doubt there are too many others and definately not on a N plate. Must have been a canal barge
-
definitly a mk3 if its a vr6 highline, vr6 was never fitted to the mk2 ;)
