What do you call the little strip that clips on below the grill and above the bumper on the front of a Mk2 Golf, and does anyone know where I can get one?

Scrapyard or ebay is a good bet.
Also in the parts for sale section a few cars are being broken which might have the bit you are after

most people call it a lower grill metal clip thingy :P
