Ever since we've had the car we have had cold starting isues. I had plans to take the throttle body appart again this weekend.
Had it remaped yesterday and guess what - no more starting troubles. Can someone please put their 2 peneth in as to why this might be as im pretty baffled. :undecided:
cheers y'all

Maybe something to do with petrol at start up or maybe ECU just needed to be resetted (both guesses!)
-
was thinking something along the lines of the ecu needing resetting.
Forgot to mention that i had a green pannel filter put in too. i was thinking maybe air starvation was the problem but the standard filter was only a month old.
-
i'd go with the ECU too
or maybe a few cobwebs got blown out after the remap.
-
Not sure what this could be, but would go with the ECU needed to be reset. I never had any issues with mine! touch wood!
-
Yay - you managed to get that sorted then!
Quite an impressive way to clear a fault too!
-
I doubt it would be the standard panel filter tbh
-
Im not counting me chickens yet, but yer, good way to cure a problem.
Ash - i wouldnt have thought it would have been that esp as it was new.
Cheers gents, just had me a bit baffled as to why a remap would cure it. Ill be back if it goes back to its old tricks.

What BHP you getting out the 2.0 lump now then?
-
i had an intermittent problem where if i didn't travel very far in the first few minutes then i'd get a slight fluctuation when idling but since having the remap thats cured it.
I think VW tended to release software updates which got loaded at your services during the warranty period. Chances are this may not have happened so the remap with its new updated code has cured the problem.

not sure as the nearest rollers i know of are in derby. if anyone knows of any nearer id like to see just what it is.
It is a hell of a lot more responsive throughout 1,2 n 3rd, not so much better top end though. You notice it more when overtaking rather than going flat out. Im happy with the gains it gives.
