Title: Electric Water Pumps?

My matey has been modding minis for a while and he has been banging on about gaining more power from an electric water pump as it reduces some resistance on the crankshaft. i know in theory this is true but is there much point in trying to get one for a gti 8v?

Any comments welcome!
