Title: Mk 3 8v water leak
Post by: madmanmavis on 04 February 2008, 17:35
Hi guys just posted this in garage but thought some of you might not look in there very much.

Ive got a water leak in my 8v ive attached a picture below its coming from where the cooling system connects to the head.

What is this part called? I need to sort this leak fairly quickly its a right pain in the arse!

Is there a gasket here that might have failed?

front coolant housing  most of them crack around the copper ring or the plastic deteriates through age around where the gasket sits

If you have the standard sqweeze clip on the hose, replace it with a jubilee hex head one, be so much easier for next time around.
