Today i am enormously excited as i have just bought a very nice VR6 Highline. ;D ;D ;D
96P, Purple, heated leather, etc, etc, FVWSH, 72K miles, 1 owner (traded in for a Golf PD TDI 150 jib job - bloke had to do more miles) Immaculate condition.
I bought it at Sidlow VW in Horsham, west sussex. I saw it a week ago on the forecourt for ?6,500. Went past on saturday it was ?4,999! I went in to ask about it, the area manager had been in and said it's too old for the forecourt, get rid of it asap so they knocked it right down. Still get all the stuff like MOT, 1 year vw warranty, oil service, valet, inspection etc.
All i have to do now is sell the GTi to raise the money.

nice :)

Well done mate, you won't regret it.
If you want any service or want to ask any questions then drop me a line ;)
-
i certainly will! Cheers
It was the first one i had driven. It is significantly quicker than my 16v and so, so smooth.
I can't wait to pick it up.

Quality :) Right place, right time, right car, right price. Spawny get ;) Enjoy.
-
Its certainly a lot of golf for your money ;)
-
i think so. Infact it's too much when you consider the nasty walnut gear knob! :-\ That's coming straight off.
-
Post some pics :D

nice buy jte, sounds like a car of pure luxury and speed is now on the streets of west sussex. i look forward to seeing it! :D
if you need a home for that walnut gearnob, hamsters like something to knaw on ;D
-
Have you got a hamster? I'd gladly donate it, although it is almost certainly walnut coloured plastic!
There's enough sh!t rude boy cars on the streets of west sussex. It's up to people like us to maintain a standard.
-
yeh know what u mean, if my mark 1 wasnt a cab i would go buy the biggest coffee table i could find, fit it to the back of my car and really compete on the whale tail front! ;) :D

where do you get those led washers........

it's just sad really because these people really think that they have nice cars. Obviously you've been to the cinema park thingy in crawley at weekends, it's quite funny.
The only car i've had with mods was a renault 19 16v. erm, i have no excuse. The body was standard but is was a bit rude, the bonnet vent and spoiler etc. It had a fancy induction kit and a dtm scorpion exhaust. It did sound good at 7,000rpm and was quite nippy, but i much prefer the understated golf quality.
-
to be honest i dont really dislike cars that are modded, i think some look silly but its all down to originality and turning heads at the end of the day.
i cant really throw stones when i drive a bright yellow mark 1 cab can i!!!! :D
-
Tasteful originality should be the object of modding, but the majority of modded cars i see seem to follow a very strict uniform which doesn't really improve the looks, and definately isn't original.
A bright yellow Mk1 cab is original and must turn heads of admiration. The only people who won't think it's a cool car probably have lexus style rear lights. :D

Bit of a downer if you actually drive a Lexus then :D I don't by the way.
