....Then leave the keys in it for me, please

I think it depends on exactly what state a recovered car is in.

Hi Manu_GTI,

I’ve got a Tracker Retrieve fitted in my 4–Motion and the only reason was because I got a substantial discount on my insurance... which in itself itself paid for the Tracker and lifetime subs. Tracker was £300 & subs £300. That was with VW insurance.

Now with LV (Liverpool Victoria) and they weren’t bothered at all about the Tracker and the premium was £80 cheaper than VW.

Couple of points... I’m an old (ish) git at 46, the car is unmodded and lives on a locked driveway.

Hope it helps.

There was a thread ages ago about a guy with a laser blue GTI who had it stolen and there was a 12 page thread on Trackers attatched to it in which our Tracker expert (Teutonic Tamer) gave everyone the complete run down on trackers etc not to meantion a whole lot of arguing.

Search the forum or PM him. Im sure he will be more than happy to help even though he has been missing for ages.

Mike

Heres my bit for what its worth. I got my tracker for 2 reasons.

1 - I dont care what condition I would get my car back in but I would feel better knowing that the scum bags did not get away with my pride and joy.
2 - if you are getting one fitted I would only choose the Tracker Response option. This is the top of the range one. I like it simply because it allows me to log in online and view my R32 location any time day or night 24/7 anywhere is goes in Europe.

So if its stolen not only are the Police and the Tracking company looking for it but so am I. I can watch it on a real time map and have as many of my mates get out on the roads to follow it  It cost me over 1k but for peace of mind I was happy to pay that. It also maintains a history of where you have driven since it was installed so you can go back and see where you have been at any time. When you are driving it also logs location and speed every 5 mins. If someone else is driving it (eg if it were stolen) I can request a postion every second (ie real time) if I wanted to.

Any links/information you could share to do with the tracker?

Call me paranoid... But b0ll0ck5 to that! Do i need someone to see everywhere i went and what speed I went at??? i dont think so. i think that is know as bugg3ring yourself!

But each to there own I guess... I would rather they just crashed and burned
