Hi guys,
Graphic designer. Been doing it all my life since college, I love it... always varied. Been specialising on catalogues for the last 10 years for companies such as RNLI, Lakeland Limited, Natural Collection plus some financial stuff.
Mid-forties now, so I know the business pretty well... it is a career I would recomend if you’re determined and don’t mind long hours and hard work.
Plus I get to surf the GTI forum (obviously in my own time).
Cheers, Hotrod

I think I'd have my golf even if I were a multimillionaire!
(Sure, I might have a couple more toys in the garage too, but the golf is 'ordinary' enough to park in town without employing a bodyguard for it, and special enough to feel like a million dollars when you're driving it)
-
I work as Environmental Manager for the 'world's largest sugar refinery'.
I guess I should be leading by example and driving a Prius, but I am of the opinion that the GTi is rather more fun
And as my boss drives a Maserati GT Coupe, I hardly think that I am the worst offender in terms of exhaust emissions!

....On the Dust-to-Dust list the Pious is about 85th and the Jeep wrangler #1 !!
Dust-to-Dust takes into account the carbon usage from initial creation through every process of the car's manufacture and a factor of 100,000 miles usage and then the car's disposal back to dust. That's far more realistic than just measuring exhaust emissions and taxing people for it. I hate Pious owners with a vengeance!!
I wish I knew why there is so much ignorance about Dust-to-Dust - It's the reality.

....I assume you test drove a DSG. It's quite a box of tricks and offers quite a few combinations of driving options, so has a learning curve before it starts to feel fluid and natural.
-
Yeah! Test drove the car a few times before purchase and I really, really liked it. I need a reliably quick car in my job now, I used to run an MR2 turbo before, and the amount of sweat and money that went into it were crazy. So i'm hoping the deutsch influence will keep it on it's toes. :)
The DSG is unreal, absolutely fantastic box - but I'll really need to get used to the different settings, t'was just basic shifting during the test drives.

Are we sucking upto plod already??? The last one left in a hump... think he couldnt handle us talking about driving fast on our own private motorways
-
We all drive fast, it's just that most of our lot get away with it
On another note, I test drove the r32 at the same inital time as the GTI, pity nobody would even quote me for insurance on it. :( the delights of being 23 y/o

I sell Canon photocopiers, for a privately owned company. Golf Gti is a company car but i wish it was mine as i thinking of leaving the photocopier world soon. Our two directors both drive black 911 turbos so i think that helped me get a Gti as a comp car. I previously had a Focus diesel estate!
3k on the Gti and loving every mile in it, will load pictures soon.
-
Dont complain.
Rob Kirosaki (Millionaire of note) started off in the photocopy industry and is now a millionaire in property.
Maybe things will work the same for you?
-
I'm a FireFighter, I attend a lot of RTC's - take it from me we're driving some of the safest cars on the road.
We spend a large part of our shift training on old cars, we've got a beautiful F reg white Scirocco ready to be cut up and I honestly can't bring myself to do it (obviously watched way too many Herbie films as a kid!)

I'm with you on that. My job is pretty dull and I've been doing it for 14 years. Currently training to get into the dark art of Unix Programming. I know that may sound just as boring but I am bit of a techy geek and I may as well do a job that interests me.
