Nope, looked into this too. Quaife do an ATB LSD for the DSG

well there you go then, now all you need is to wait for peloquin to copy the design and release it at a realistic (read: non-quaife) price

....A little here and there is more tasteful imo

Black is what carbonfibre is all about imo.

I didn't do any cf until after performance mods and I'm waiting for my warranty to run out before doing a Quaiffe ATB (limited slip diff).

I don't like the silver cf although it could look very subtle on a silver car (Hurdy!!).

Europe's sole OSIR distributor is the TTshop 01234 853 225, ask for Justin or Dave and mention my name Robin (red M5 GTI) - They are very helpful.

Ignore the detractors Hurdy... silver carbon would look superb in the right places.  Of course some discretion would be in order otherwise you'll look like a posh chav - a contradiction in terms but the only valid description nonetheless

External trim would look good - not sure about the internal bits though. Have to agree with RR - carbon fibre looks best in black and the contrast with red is great :smug:

I do like the black CF bonnet with the red carbon middle section though

That will cost some dow, that hood!
I mean, it is a Golf, and here you go Hurdy ready to splash so much money.
Wouldn't be better to get something more powerful for the money, I don't know, a RS4 or something similar?

Personally, I'll do a map and suspension, then I wait for TTS or TTR... basically wait for some crazy Audi.

....I could have finished my CF bonnet with CF black centre but in reality a big expanse of carbon, especially horizontally on a bonnet, looks very glittery. So I painted mine all over externally.

i like the black stripe, more so on a white ed 30, but only really on a show car, looks at bit 2fast 2furious for everyday use.

Yes, I will do eventually. the car will end up as a daily driver for the missis and I'll move on to something else more exotic in the VAG stable. For now I'm just enjoying splashing a bit of dosh and tinkering.

Carbon fibre parts weren't even on my radar until I saw the OSIR site and the silver CF parts  WHICH ARE NOW ON ORDER AND PAID FOR!!!!!

Mentioned RR and spoke to Dave who was very helpful and gave me an offer I couldn't refuse . The TT shop is just over an hour from me and so I'm having it all fitted too

I opted out of the rear spoiler though. A step too far maybe :undecided:

Cheers RR.

I've gone for the double sided silver CF bonnet without the vent. My next step is to decide whether or not to make it extra subtle by spraying the centre section (or outside section) in Reflex silver and leaving the other section/s in CF :undecided:

....I don't envy you that decision about leaving the centre bonnet CF exposed or not! It took me weeks to decide and I had plenty of reference photos of black CF on red cars too. It's def best, without any doubt whatsover, to paint the 'outside' sections in silver. It's extra difficult for you because no-one has actually seen silver CF except Riso.

The Double-skin is very rigid and the whole OSIR bonnet is very well made. I don't know if you knew that Riso worked on that special American "R GTI" version. I actually find that the vent works better than I thought it would - My bonnet is never hot to the touch anymore and I can feel the heat leaving the vent.

A fair bit, but the exchange rate for $ to £ at the moment is good. The price I was given included VAT and fitting. £1,***'s so cheaper than the big brake upgrade I'm considering

Just noticed that the bonnet weighs under 8kg as compared with the standard one at 13.6kg.

At least it will go some way to redressing the balance of the extra weight of the sub in the boot.

I wonder how much the other bits saved?

Can I claim that as a carbon offset :lipsrsealed:......I'll get my coat!

Just noticed that the bonnet weighs under 8kg as compared with the standard one at 13.6kg.

....It feels featherlight when you open it. When you close it, the best way is to pause the closing action about an inch from engaging the lock and then gently but firmly push down with the flat of your hand to engage the lock - This method will save possible damage though CF is extremely tough.

It's crazy what a joy it is now to open and close the bonnet!! So smoooooooooooooooth

Now that is what I call a review on a bonnet

Unless the TT shop can assure me that they can get the DTM lower valance section to fit "out of the box" I may well opt out and spend it on something else :undecided:

....Obviously I'll let TTshop themselves say what they can or can't do, but as your whole holly valance is one-piece (Ed30) the only way (I think) would be to buy a R32 Spoiler part to go with the OSIR CF. But then, as discussed in the other thread, you've got a camera to accommodate. As I understand it from Justin, the OSIR tail pipe trim comes with screw fixings.

I'll be interested in hearing if anything can be done.

The wait is nearly over

The TT shop have confirmed that they have the parts and I've confirmed that I want the outer two sections of the bonnet painting and the middle leaving as Silver carbon-fibre

Should hopefully be able to get it fitted before the Rolling road day at Awesome (and obviously the Spring Festival)

Anyone who has silver carbon fibre kitted car pics...pleeease post them
