Title: Mk2 16v GTI with Factory Zender Bodykit

Hi Guys,

Does anyone know anything about VW producing a special edition mk2 16v GTI, that came with a factory fitted Zender body kit.  It would have been on an F plate, or around that time.

The handbook had "1 in ten million" written on the cover.

Does it ring any bells, or does anyone know anything more about this? 

If it helps (and Im not sure about other 16v engines) but the rev counter on this one goes red about 7500rpm i think, or maybe higher.

the 1 in 10 million were the campaign ones but juat came in special colours with the rainbow interior. No bodykits as standard.

What were the rainbow interiors like?

And was the engine identical to other 16V ones, hence the rev counter would be the same?

The one I have been looking does not have those wheels, interior looks different, the steering wheel is a non standard one (not sure if it was factory fitted), but the handbook looks the same! lol.

They guy said it came from the factory with the kit on it, but as he is the 2nd owner, i cant find out any more.  This kit made the arches look more square than round, if that makes sense.  And although its a small bumper edition, the kit adds a front and rear valance/skirt.

yes its mine,they came with 14"le castellets rainbow interior and 90spec rear half smoked clusters.
mines done 73k and was stored for 12yrs,its totally o/e

Im pretty sure its not the Pirelli kit, since it has the Zender name on it.  Will try to get some pics.

There was a zender bodykit for small bumpers, Ive got the rear skirt in the garage somewhere!

I think Zender kit might have been a dealer option (not 100%)
