Help please. Obviously there is a leak. Drivers side foot well is a bit damp. Took off door panel and repaired plastic skin at the week-end. It had come away but the bottom of the door panel still felt damp this morning! The drain holes look clear - am i missing something? Ice on the inside of the windscreen is not good!
Cheers.

actual door seal, the one that attatches to the body of the car?
get down to a scrappers and get one, fit it, hope thats it.
do a search on this section, there is a guide somewhere with every possibility pretty much of place that can leak on a mk2...
-
Thanks! Think I can get a door seal from German and Swedish.
-
dont whatever you do go to the dealers, got me nearly 90£ for a set of 2!
ask around or find someone breaking a car, or like i say, scrappers.

I had a problem with water in the drivers side footwell and it turned out to be the drain hole above the wheel arch that was blocked. It's under the scuttle tray and the ECU as you open the bonnet. Worth checking out as it's free to fix.
Also, matey-matey have a decent checklist for finding leaks.

oh yeah, along with that, the black strip that runs down the side of the windscreen, there is a channel in the middle of that, i ran the jetwasher through that to clear it, that might be worth doing too... not sure if it will make a difference but if the person who owned it last like the the one that owned mine, didnt have a jetwasher, you'll be suprised at the amoutn of what can only be described as sh*t, that comes out of it.

get a new water deflector from vw, its £25 but they redesigned the old crappy filmsy one and it works wonders.. i had major water leak through the heater fan cos my deflector was knackered.
-
if his is the 90 spec though it will prbs have the new deflector on it surely?>
-
Is a 90 spec - but the deflector does have a few splits in it.
Could it be the strip the sits between the window and the door - ie bridges the gap.
Thanks.

yeh possibly, i need a new set of them, water gettin through killed my door speaker
