Hi,
I've seen a few GTI's (Non-UK) which have a german flag badge at the rear. Anyone know where to buy that?
Back looks a bit bland with just a "GTI" badge IMO.
-
....Don't mention World War II
-
bloody hell mate don't ever run a german badge on a rhd gti totally
nothing against the german flag but just so cr@p
you dont live there so why do it?
and germans would not think it cool either, they like to see abit of competition

I think it looks alright. As for it being german, well i drive a german designed and made GTI
I find the MK5 rear a bit bland with just a "GTI" badge. Want to balance it by having a badge on the other side

Should have bought an Edition 30 and then you would have had a badge on both sides  :smug:

No no no.
If you really have to balance the rear out , remove the GTI badge. Much more tastefull than adding additional badges

No offence, bit if I saw a MK5 with that on it I would just think, what a c0ck!

The Japanese market Civic Type R comes with a Union Jack out of the factory to signify where it was manufactured.
I know of quite a few tuned cars in the U.S that have the German flag, don't really see it as an issue if you want to put one on it.
-
I wouldn't get a badge of any kind stuck on my car, but I don't think there's any problem these days with having a german flag stuck on a car.
It's increasingly rare for a german car to be built in germany (going that way with british cars too :-) ), so why not? (Taste aside of course).
-
if your not a German don't do it.
what about this instead....

Or hows about a 1.4 Badge and a Rabbit front kit not to mention hub caps and then put your "turbo" badge on so your car loses any resemblance at all to a GTI and then you can surprise all the mommies in their Renault Clios who think they faster than you
Or at least thats what they do in America....
I'll leave now.. :embarassed:
-
yea mike i think youve been on too many yankie forums
-
I think it would be funny at first but then the styling of a gti is much better than the normal golfs imo
Also why make it look like youve downgraded your car
-
Them yanks are crazy peeples.
Some of the cars there are awesome and the best thing is that they all jelous because they wont be getting the ED30
Also why make it look like youve downgraded your car
So you can beat all the mommies! Its all about proving the mommies in their Clios wrong :smug:

why not turn it into a sleeper and disguise your car as something else, think of the shock value when you overtake something and it has this badge on the back.....

I was behind a Mondeo today (although.. not for long, i might add ) it was an ST somert or other, it had about 5 badges all over it like that porche turbo one, "T" and god knows what else. i was like yeh OK, i think it's a turbo lolz
-
I saw a black Mk5 GTi the other day driven by some yoof who'd removed the GTi from the left, replaced it with Golf, and then added a mk4 GTi badge, with the red 'i' on the right.
Disasterous.
Not to mention the people I see with 'Golf' on one side and their name on the other side.
And the guy with a black mk5 who has stuck 'Golf' under the VW sign on his grill at the front
What would possess you to do this?
However I quite like the German badge.
The un-knowledgable might think its some super-special edition
-
I'm still debating putting one of these on :undecided:
