thats a electric speedo drive?? is that a new box yo have or is it in your car?

thats why i dont have a speedo reading and the wire is hanging loose ,can i get other clocks and if yep then what kind?

it you undo the bolt and put the whole drive out..then fit new drive to fit a cable on it..as they are diffrent

ok ! sorry i,m lost never come across probs like this. i will figure it out though thanks! but do you know if this is standard for a mk2 8v gti late 89mod or do i have a gypsy car? :undecided:

mines a 1991 model and it has a cable drive never seen electric drive on a mk2

i didnt think they had one either even checked my haynes so it must be mk3 or???

right mate lets to bottom of this do you have the electric plug there for the sensor?? and if so is it plug in the dash??

nope just a cable with a gear at the bottom if thats what you ment!

yep and i looked high and lo for where it fits cos i have no meter reading!

so all need to do is undo the bolt pull the electric drive out put your one in with cable on and refit bolt

thats a weighted shift rod from a mk3 we fit these on mk2 as they make gear change so much nicer

ahhh ok thanks , im new to mechanical mods my other gti was only moded cosmeticaly. but again thanks very much for the info. :grin:
