What are peoples views on stone chips on the Mk5 paint work?

Is it worth investing in Paintshield/Armourfend etc?

Hi I got mine from Rhinoprotect, PM me if you want some pics of what it looks like.

It cost £500 all in and they fitted it to the car before I got it at the Stealers. I had a 1 series before my GTI and it stone chipped really bad so this stuff was a must for me!  It has been good to be fair but the particular company I used has poor customer service after I bought it as I had to remove part of the shield for repair and they promise they will replace it if their sheild has to be removed for repair, but they are not intrested.

The good stuff is made by venturesheild I think

I had my Edition 30 done as soon as I got it with Paintshield in Grantham so he's now got the full patterns!

Here's the link to the GTi coverage: http://catalog.xpeleu.com/partquery/search

They did a fantastic job and covered the bonnet and front wings in full as well as doing the bumper, back of the mirrors and the headlight's

Customer service was fantastic and it is well worth getting it done so you don't have to get it re-painted in the future!

Have a look at the gallery to see some of the cars that they have done! While I was there a chap rang up with an Enzo, 599 GTB and an F430 enquiring about the full protection, so they've got to be good! He can also cover any other extra bits of the car if you request cause they can make a pattern for any part!
