does anyone have any performance figures for a chipped (around 210 bhp) mk 4 turbo. a friend is wondering what the difference would be if he chipped his 2001 gti turbo, jabbasport quotes 216 bhp. very impresive, but what are the on the road figures?

is this just another one of those dead forums ???

No not a dead forum, people probably don't have a answer for you as there are a lot of variables like tyres, driver, conditions etc. Try asking Jabba sport for the figures as they have a lot of experience with that type of mod.

My guess? ... 7.5secs
Ur still 2WD so u aint faster than the V6 4Motion even though its 10bhp down on u. Plus it pulls from low revs, your turbo doesnt kick in until about 1900rpm... so your "sluggish" until then... (though still fast)
So, if the V6 4Motion is 7.3secs ... Id say ur around 7.5secs ... but to be honest, its down to how good the driver is... if you are a crap driver then your time wont be 7.5.. it could be 8.5 ... 9 ... who knows. ... also depends on the road, weather etc etc...
7.5secs in a perfect world with a professional driver.

Haven't got any times recorded yet but plan to.
7.5 seconds seems a little slow to me, considering the 180bhp models have a quoted 0-60 time of 7.6 seconds, and I have almost 30bhp and a shed load more torque than those.
Not sure how accurately recorded it was but Starry posted a time of 6.8 seconds, and a rolling road showed him producing 190bhp and 210 lb ft torque. So I'm guessing mine is low to mid 6 seconds, certainly feels like it ;D
I'm not saying that's gospel... might be just because it feels so different, I'll go find a mate with a stopwatch ;)

considering the 180bhp models have a quoted 0-60 time of 7.6 seconds,
7.9secs according to VW.
...
I cant see this chipped thing being mid 6's ... the R32 with 240Bhp and a 4WD system only does it in 6.6secs.
Im sticking with my original 7.5secs time.
