Title: battery light comes on dim when revs over 5000

it started doing this tonight to battery light flickers dim when the revs are over 5000 .

the fan belt looked abit loose so i tighted it up abit and went out only to hear it squeel!
i'm getting a new one tomorrow........

would this be a belt related problem or an alternator fault! the alternator was done a few years back! so is it worn already!!!!!!!!! ??? ???

any ideas!

Alternator is prob ok, change the belt and see how you get on.

yeah try new belt, get it set right and if still does it its alternator prob, a few years is good for an alternator, if car used daily could easily be fooked again
