How will selling it on work as I thought that you had to have the standard and the remap "paired" electronically so that you couldn't just sell it on?

does anybody know if you can re-use a bluefin module? i've seen one on fleabay advertised as brand new for £400. can you just buy one and plug and play?  :undecided:

I would have thought that the contract for the Bluefin would lay with the original purchaser and that anyone wanting to use it as a second purchaser would have to contact Superchips and set up their own contract. If a Bluefin on Fleabay is being sold "as new" then it shouldn't have been used on a car and therefore hasn't yet been twinned up with a car's standard map. This would then be an arrangement with the original purchaser and the next buyer to re-register the next owner with Superchips.

If in doubt, just e-mail or phone Superchips to see what they say on the matter. :nerd:

My understanding is that when you receive it from Superchips when buying new, the handheld is 'empty' you then plug into your car, download current settings, then send that file to Superchips via. internet, they then do their thing, send the 'remap' file back to you and you install the remap which swaps the standard settings onto the handheld... not sure if that makes any sense! But I don't think it would be wise to install a map from a used Bluefin, even though they are supposed to be generic - definately contact superchips!
