Had my car booked into the dealers today, and no doubt it again turned into a crappy experience. What is it with these guys?? Do they only hire people with male reproductive organs on their foreheads  Here is a list of event as they happened..
1. Car was booked in for 2pm. Was totally ignored by all staff... could it be something to do with the old attire i was wearing at the time??
2. Spoke to a member of staff at 2.15 who couldnt find why the car was going in?? Incompotence ooozing
3. 2.35 Checked to see if the car had even moved... of course it was still sitting where i parked it.
4. Told car was ready, taking 50mins more than the original 1hr quoted. Was then told to give it a wash would take another 25mins. Told them to pi$$ off and give me my keys.
5. WAs told that the outside temp display I had asked them to check mean that it would have to go back to them for approx 3days!!!!
6. Got back to the car to find the drivers side parked 8" from another car or like a TWOKer would park. Clearly visible mark on other car where my door had been opened on their car!
7. Got into car to find what can olny be described as dried cum stains on door handle, steering, gear knob, hand brake, passenger seat and centre console
8. Called out the staff to explain to them what had happened. They said the next time the car was in they would ensure it was cleaned both inside and out..
Do you really think my car should ever go back to them to$$ pots!! Although now its booked and I cant wait to give their courtesy car the love it deserves... anyone fancy a track day???
p.s. It was Leeds Richard Alexander again!!
-
I know how you feel
I changed to JCT at Wakefield (for similar reasons) :lipsrsealed:
and JCT were also £100 cheaper for my 1st longlife service
Alternatively you could give Harrogate a try....they seemed much better than Leeds

I had this deep down feeling that I should have gone to the Wakey VW but decided it was quite far to go for something so trivial. How wrong i was!! I just find that because they are a JCT600 they tend to have much better customer service. Its Wakey all the way for me once this stuff is sorted!
-
I don't trust Richard Alexander either so changed to Wakey, but even they try it on because they thought my car was a lease car and told me I needed over £1200 of work including replacing 2, 6 month old tyres. They also informed me that the car has the wrong antifreeze in it (wtf) and I said well that's weird I've had the car for 40000 miles and have only ever taking it to Richard Alexander vw in Leeds so I'm going to look through my receipts to see if they have ever claimed to have changed my antifreeze and to ask them why the fook they have put the wrong antifreeze in. As usual in this country you just bend you over and they give it you up your exhaust pipe.
-
Very true!! I wonder how they knew your anti freeze was wrong?
-
At this rate we'll all be travelling to South Yorkshire or somewhere for our servicing
-
How they knew it was the wrong antifreeze I don't know, maybe they taste it or it's a different colour or maybe knowing Richard Alexander they have left the empty container in my engine bay.

Anyway I must scuttle of to the mk4 forum because I feel like i'm spying on the neighbours sexier daughter being on this forum and she has just turned round and seen me peeking.

Maybe us VW lovers should set up our own dealership and show the numpties how it should be done!
-
Think thats what Jim did at Awesome
-
ive got nothing but praise for my local dealer; VW Lookers Middlesbrough (some classy service desk babes aswell  )
Never had to wait more than 3 days to get it in and they even give me a nice golf as a courtesy car. They will even do non-warranty items for me.
Shame you guys down south are having a nightmare.
-
While we are slagging VW stealers:
Citygate Ruislip - lying, time wasting, crap
Chiswick VW - useless, expensive
Twickenham VW - decent, so far....
-
Re Point 7 of the original post - I have the picture of some young spotty twit sitting in your car having a crafty w&*k, there is the reason for the cum stain!
Wakie VW charged me 240 quid for my service, 21 quid of this was to adjust the drivers door which was closing 5mm short (I thought this would have been a warranty job). Oh and when I asked why it was put on the long life, they said "Sorry, we didn’t know it was a GTi!†They are all the same! My next trip will be to Awesome in Manchester!

i baught mine from JCT 600, they seem ok, they cleaned the whole car except the wheels which i found annoying but other than that they seemd OK.
Why is it that all VW mechanics at dealerchips are absolute @rseholes!!!
-
Must say that I am happy with the dealership that I use (used them for the last 4 years). The mechanics are good and will usually go to the n'th degree to sort out a problem.
Mind you I only get them to vac the car, not wash it, as I prefer to do it myself.
I did use one of the chains mentioned near the top of the post. After they damaged two of my cars I have never been back to them.

Hello fellas been away a while like we were flooded in June last year , still in a caravan on the drive waiting for re-instatement to start . Hence no messages comments etc, still working in Belfast no chanage there. Only trouble is get I get to drive Ed 30 Friday night and over weekend, so only done 7,500 miles since last March. One thing though does make me appreciate the car when I get to drive it  . The reason I am now back on the site is my lil ol laptop now up and running in caravan. I just wanted to mention my dealer, I have used this one for a long time around 1992/3. Hayseldens at Doncaster have always done a good job, I can only speak from experience but they have gone out of their way to help me and on most occasions the car I was having trouble with hadn't been bought from them, cant say fairer that that keep up tp speed now I'm back take care boys and safe driving

Just goes to show how variable service can be even at the same dealership
- as per recent comments from others regarding Wakefield.
As a follow on to my original post, I had the standard "...hope you were satisfied with our service..." letter a week after my incident. Wasn't going to make anything of it, but seeing as they asked, I replied and told the service manager what had ocurred. Not had the courtesy of a reply ! Says it all really.
Maybe I'll make the trip to the red rose county (Awsome) for the next service...although Hurdy reckons Gilders at Hillsbrough are OK...again, it seems to depend on the service manager and mechanic you happen to get given on the day, so I have no confidence. Sad sate of affairs.

always found hayseldens at barnsley to be decent.
stay clear of huddersfield richard alexander too, they screwed up my dash trims and radio
-
Isnt it just terrible what we all have to go through... To the point where we decide to just live with minor faults!! its what they want i guess
