ive recently brought a golf mk4 turbo an i finally got round to putting a stereo into it 2nite 2 find that it wont work it seems that the earth power and ignition live are on a seperate plug with an in line fuse but i cant find any were for it to go does any one have any ideas cheers LOz

Yeah, I had this problem. There are 2 cables that you need to swap around, or take out or something. I honestly cant remeber as I did my HU almost a year ago now so its long since left my memory. You have to do some kinda mod to the wireing to get it to work.

Try Google, or post this up in the audio section.

I beleive its the yellow and black ones you need to swap araound. In most looms they come with plugs that you can unplug and replug without having to split the cables.

Are you sure that what you are looking at is a fuse? i cant recall ever seeing a fuse in the wireing of a head unit.

Thats it, you have swap two cables over that come with plugs. God knows what colour they where, I was thinking it was yellow and red, but my memory is as reliable as a London bus.

You could actually be right there mate. I think it might be yellow and red. Its the only 2 wires that have plugs on em anyway. My Memory aint much better.
