Thats very impressive I must say! Have to go quite fast to get that 1.5car length ahead though. But this could quite simply be down to milli seconds on take off i would have thought. Not trying to steal your thunder in anyway ofcourse

I was assuming that evo's are 340bhp?? Or is this just the FQ-340 ones?? On anything other than a straight I imagine this would be much more difficult for anything to keep up.

Was this from a standing start? If so how did you overcome the superior 4 wheel traction?

Talkin of which i was behind a Audi A8 L 4.2 TDI this morning - the guy was giving it some welly and from zero to as fast as buggary it was a well impressive machine - once moving no prob for the Ed. but low down...... The traction man ....the traction!
Don't let that put you off if your thinkin R32 .... this is a very seldom occasion...and the Ed. is a well superior machine! :smug:

Well done.  Not wishing to steal your thunder either but Evo VIII MRs and Evo IXs only have to be tickled slightly to produce a very reliable 400 bhp/ 400 lb ft car.  My own Evo had 404 bhp and 390 lb ft with just a decatted exhaust, cold air intake and a good remap.  The IX is even easier to tune due to the mivec engine.

Your friend's IX must still have the cat in situ and there is no way it has been remapped as the gain is fairly pathetic over the standard 280 bhp car.  If it has been remapped, he needs to find a better mapper as even on completely standard cars (with stock/catted exhaust) you can get around 340-350 bhp with a good remap.
