Not so good here, long wait - item not as described and they tried to give me b*llsh!t about it (long story posted elsewhere) even after I contacted the manufacturers, who said they didn't actually supply the size Venom said they'd sold me

Sent them back and got refunded ok though.

From Venom's website tonight:
Quote
Vauxhall Cavalier Mk 3 excl. GSi & V6 X-LOW (A, A-CC) (88-95)
Apex Lowering Springs 60mm 60mm £79.33
(inc. VAT)

According to the Apex marketing manager in Holland - they don't sell -60mm lowering springs for Cavaliers, unless we're talking about coilover kits and yet Venom still have them listed now, two years on from when I 'heightend' my SRi.

Standard SRi's are 15mm shorter than standard Cav's - and I already had a 40mm drop, but I wanted to take the back down further as it was higher than the front (always the same on later Cav's). I got the Apex springs and nowhere on the box or instructions did it mention the drop - but one of the codes did have a '60' in. When I fitted the back ones it raised the car by miles - I asked the man at Venom and he said "it would settle in" (despite my front springs only being two months old and covering less than 1000 miles) - they didn't.

Then I contacted Apex through their website. I got through to some person in Holland where they come from (marketing manager?) and he told me they only do -35mm springs for a Cavalier. They do a -60mm coilover kit, but not springs.

So I got on the phone to Venom and they were trying to tell me that because mine was an SRi and already 15mm lower than standard, that it was the reason the springs weren't as low as I thought. I tried to tell him I already had -40mm lowering springs on the back and it's gone higher with the Apex springs on, but he just wouldn't take it in and tried to feed me more and more crap.

I got my money back no problem, but they're still 'advertising' them

Sorry to hear that m8. I ordered a suspension set form them a few years ago for my old mk3 golf complete crap. They were so bad i had to get our mechanic to modify them to get them to fit. When they finally did fit it was the worst handling thing on the planet.  Ordered an exhaust aswell more crap.

I suppose the kit I got may have been ok, but it was a -35mm or -30mm drop, not the -60mm they were advertising. Then their lies after that didn't go down well.......

They gave me my money back no problem, they just tried to invent things along the way.

Luckily I got a set of two back -60mm springs off ebay days later for about £20 delivered - and they were spot on!

Strange. I have ordered a few things from them in the past, including there own brand suspension. Was very good on all accounts. I hope they aren't on the decline because they established a good reputation for themselves, now it looks like they are losing it.

I have used them for a good few years and found them to be reliable and knowledgeable. Can't recommend them enough!

How good are Venom at keeping you up to date on order dispatches and such like?
I can't see a way of tracking on the website
Do they email you with the progress of the order, like when it's been dispatched, or does the stuff just turn up out of the blue one day?

they are normally really quick to send stuff to you anyway to be honest. When I have ordered stuff it has arrived with in 2 or 3 days.

ordered a spacer kit from them tother day. Was really happy with the guy on the phone and they turned up next day as well as getting a confirmation text from parcel force saying when they would be delivered.

Wheel bolts supplied with it though were massively too long and were winding through the wheel, spacer and hub to rub on the rear brake shoes. Believe it to be a genuine mistake as the bolts were packaged seperately

Just received my weitiec GTN's from them, which they did a price match on. Great service
