Title: Removing rear badges
Post by: Dec on 22 January 2008, 18:05
Hi guys,

I want to remove the middle VW badge and the GOLF badge on the right. They're held on by holding pins but I cannot see how the come off :undecided: Want to remove them without damaging them as i only want to spray them unless anyone can link me to some new, already black ones? (have tried ebay :undecided: )

Cheers, Dec

If you go in the boot, I think you can see the end of the pins. Pinch them together (mine were funny "split pins")and it should pull off.

Worked on mine anyway.

Just look inside the boot and you should be able to push 'em out. I did this on my old Driver and the badges looked better black. Altough the middle VW badge is a pain in the arse to get it to go back correctly.

they can be a pain to get out but they do push out. be careful you don't snap a pin on the VW one though.

A good spray of WD40 as lube helps too, or fairy liquid. Also try warming them up as this helps reduce the brittleness of the plastic.

Thanks for your help guys, today i decided to just yank at it for a minute or two and it popped out!

Given it 3 coats so far and going to leave it to dry tonight and fit it on again in the morning!

Just the "GOLF" badge to do now, is that the same method of removal?
