I was driving to work this morning as usual, doing nothing different, and all of a sudden i have no windscreen wipers, blowers or rear window heater.
Could this be a fuse or am i going to have to rip my dashboard out tonight?
Cheers
Nick

Sounds like a fuse/s i would have a look at them first. theres a chart of the fuses on the back of the fuse box cover, have a look to see the ones you need to change/inspect. Then go from there!

cheers for the reply
only problem is the fuse box cover is missing. never as easy as it should be is it!!!

I would also check thoroughly that water isn't getting into the fusebox.
Here's the fusebox diagrams: http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=44637.0

sounds like the #18 x-over relay has come loose, turn on the wipers and wiggle it :)

Had same problem and found it was the X Relief Relay as RJ states. You'll probably find the cause of this issue is water coming in through the bonnet release cable, travelling down it and dripping on the fusebox. You may also want to check your windscreen seal in the area too. I lost my headlights when this happened and due to constant power it blew my ignition switch too. :(

thank you all
the relay was loose and i do have water dripping into the car so i think it was a mixture of both. im going to move the fuse box a bit and get busy with some silicone at the weekend
thanks again

Reckon this is why my interior and boot lights are playing up. Will they be OK once car is dried out or is the damage permanent?

depends really, sometimes its ok sometimes the fusebox is full of dirt n corrosion and needs replacing!
