Title: mfsw how to...
Post by: flywalker on 21 January 2008, 19:00
I have mfsw and highline display on my 2007 Gti. Does anyone know how I can get my radio to scroll through the stored channels ,  that I have hard tuned on the radio,   when using the mfsw controls ??????    At the moment if I use the steering wheel controls,   the radio seems to scroll through the channels in no particular order & runs through a long list of  channels ,   some of which I had hard tuned into its memory when I got the car first ,  but mostly random channels which the radio can pick up in the area.

The scroll function seems to display all available stations in the locality rather than the ones you've stored. I don't think you can scroll through the presets.

Can I butt in here please?  I picked up my 08 Ed 30 last week and have yet to work out how to scroll through stations on the MFSW - as far as I can see it's only possible to adjust the volume and mute it?  How are you changing the station with your steering wheel?

I think you need to press the right hand top button, the "menu" ans use the right hand up/down to get the display to AUDIO, select with okay then the station/track name can be changed.

Not 100% sure.

Yes, the "menu" button cycles through three menus - the audio menu; the convenience menu (only possible when the vehicle is stationary) and the display menu (mpg, average speed etc.)

It all just sounds like a serious case of laziness on here!!

To go to your presets, you simply take your left hand off the steering wheel and press the relevant button of the stereo. lazy a$$

Well I tried it earlier and you were right   Cheers Dave - you've saved me from being very disheartened with the MFSW because this was one of my main reasons for ordering it! (It doesn't actually say in the manual that you can do this which is a bit pants).

I had a play with it earlier and like you, can only flick through stations in the area rather than my preset ones (I found some stations I'd never heard of though!).

I know someone will say "Read the Hand Book" but how do you get the Radio Station name on the (RED) display between the steering wheel? I only seem to have MPG or Time travelled from the computer!

Assuming you have the multi function steering wheel and highline display, press the button on the right hand side of the steering wheel (above the OK button) with the menu icon. This will cycle through the available menus, including "audio". See the earlier post in this thread.
