Title: mk4 golf dash into mk2, need some help with the wiring please

hi there,

ive just fitted a mk4 golf dash into my mk2, and have been wiring it up for the last two weeks
(i know that sounds like a long time but its been such a head ache to do)

so far i have wired up the mk4 clocks, hazard switch and indicatir stalk, which all seem to work

but i cannot figure out how to get the mk4 wiper stalk to work with mk2 wiring, when i tried to wire it up yesterday i couldnt get the washer jest to work with the mk4 stalk, and when ever i turned the wipers on, instead of stopping at the bottom of the screen as they should, they would stop on random places on the screen.

someone please help me, as this is driving me mad :undecided:.

any wiring diagrams or help/info would be much appreciated.

hi there, after alot of head scratching and shouting, i finally managed to get the wipers to work with the mk2 golf loom, there was onw wire missing on the mk4 loom which makes the wipers go back down.

the dash is all in now and everything is working. however, after all the hassle i have had, i would never attempt to do it again.  anyone who has done this dash swap in the past, i salute you.

as for web sites that show this, a guy on this forum sent me some step by step info. cant remember his name, but if you post the subject up someone should reply back.

ive learnt one thing from diong this,  "i hate wiring"  :angry:

Any pictures mate? Sounds so cool, one of the things i dont like about mk2's is the old school dash!

thats exactly why i changed it, was alot of work though

Sweet cheers mate! Herd about people putting mk3 dash's in but mk4's must be sexual :drool:
