Title: BP Unleaded Vs Super Unleaded
Post by: 8vRicey on 21 January 2008, 11:32
Hi Peeps,
I have just finished doing a 600 mile comparison between BP unleaded and Super Unleaded, so i thought i would share my findings.

MPG
Unleaded 30.74 mpg average
Super Unleaded 32.35 mpg average

COST
Unleaded £1.07 per litre
Super Unleaded £1.14 per litre

COST PER MILE
Unleaded 285 miles using 42.14 litres = 16p per mile
Super Unleaded 375 miles using 52.68 litres = 16p per mile

CONCLUSION
Super Unleaded gives better MPG, better throttle response, cleaner engine (according to BP), and cured my lumpy idle, at no extra cost !!
Not a scientific analysis, but quite interesting. Will carry on using Super Unleaded, and monitoring cost/MPG.

101.9 in Bristol and the birds ain't all that..... maybe there's some sort of correlation here between petrol prices and fitness of birds.

What are they like in Shetland?  By rights they should all be fit as!

Check your atlas - it's quite clearly north of the Watofrd Gap.

The best bit about super unleaded is that you get to queue behind jags and flash Beemers for the V-Power pumps. You can tell their thinking "why the f#ck is he putting expensive fuel in that old car?".  It always makes me think:  "You know nothing about motors mate..."

I've tried all types in my 16V-normal unleaded, Sainsburys super, Tesco super, Shell V-Power etc and have found no noticeable difference in performance or MPG!

Never use BP as it's virtually always the most expensive anywhere! I usually put Shell V-Power in. Strange at the moment as Sainsburys unleaded which is usually the cheapest is actually the most expensive and 2p more than Shell unleaded!

i use bp unleaded and sometimes treat my self to super, depends if the pump i pull upto has ultimate. if not, i dont, sometimes even put diesel in if there is a cue for petrol. im not a patient man.

anyhoo, there are good looking birds in sheffield, hillsborough park is full of the f*ckers!

as for women, who cares after 7 pints what they look like!

oh yeah, my mk2 drinks petrol and oil and anything else it finds being poured into it. its a thirsty old hag! but i love it!

I'm pretty sure that's because of the k-jet, digifant systems have a knock sensor and will advance the ignition if you put in decent petrol.
