Title: R32 SPECS
Post by: deanpoli on 20 January 2008, 17:43
I notice that there does not seem to be many 3 door R32s about, there all 5 doors? also there is hardly any which have the top of the range recaro sport seats?

why is this so?

I think this is simply as the recaros regardless of how fab they look, are just toooo expensive! £2k for some seats???
And the reason why many go for the 5dr is just because its more practical, and why have 3 when you can have 5? :nerd:

I think a lot of people like the practicality of 5 doors, personally I prefer 3 door but I do not have any kids etc. so dont need the extra 2. The recaro seats are a 2 grand extra, I think they are absolutely gorgeous but its a whole lot of money for 2 seats.

i think the 3 door looks better but it's just not practical to not have 5 doors, it's kind of annoying having to get out of the car to let someone out............

i've not seen the recaro's in the flesh but i imagine they are worth the money but leather is comfortable....i just don't know why they don't have auto adjusters............and memory settings like bmw.....surely it can't cost that much to add it to the car?

I saw a DPB 3 Door yesterday with blacked out windows and just looked so nice! Why is that colour so common....But yeah...about the seats it just depends how much you want them and if you are willing to spend £2k on a pair of seats....unfortunatley daddy paid for the car so i just got a full spec :)....should be worth it lol

I consciously went for an R32 without the recaro seats as, having experienced the similar bucket seats in the RS4, the leather wears quite quickly.  You constantly have to rub against the side and thigh bolsters to get in and out.  For people who are generally big (I'm 6'4'' but not fat), my bottom is too large to sit on them comfortably on long journeys.

As far as the 3 door vs 5-door, I would never go for a 3-door as it just isn't practical enough for me.  Having said this, I know plenty of people who just wouldn't even consider a 5-door.

For some reason the 18" Zolders look small on the R32  :undecided:

Just cannot get over that R32 front  :lipsrsealed: and the twin central pipes (to me they make the back look fatso)  :embarassed:
But I guess, if I had R32 I'd be a die-hard fan, just like you lot, and even more so after a turbo conversion!

Can someone do a conversion already?!

Nokia N82. Very good so far, and software seems to be so much quicker than any other I have had. Alround 9/10. looses a point for being bigger than my old phone, but i can live with that, as I am not into flash girly phones. :nerd:

THis one has a xenon flash too. From the comparisons pictures I have seen on the web it kicks all phone cameras inc the N95. I am not really one to use a camera phone, as I have a Pentax 5mp camera anyway, but the pictures are of the same if not better quiality so much so that I am now selling my camera!!

Even in a pitch black room its comes out with fantastic pictures!

That looks very very nice...and the seats...oh the seats....just cant wait to get mine....there is one that looks very very similiar on piston heads but with 19" RS4 rims...i am really thinking about these rims for my R as they seem like a perfect match...could any one confirm if i wanted to fit 19's they would need to be 19 * 8.5? or is it 19 * 8?

Don't think the plaid jobbies are half leather i'm afraid - or the red stiching - and what a price!!!!

Sorry for poo pooing - i for one also agree that the ed30 SHOULD have had these seats - i rekon there was a supply problem last year as i had ordered a normal GTI with the seats (before i canceled for the ed30) and was told i'd have to wait longer on the build date cos of them
