Hi guys
I currently have a 90' gti 8v in white which i bought as a nice little project to do up as its the car i always wanted when i was younger, well now the 2nd kid is on the way im coming over all sensible and considering getting rid of it. I dont really want to just flog it off as i kindda grown attached to it so im considering swapping it for a different car to someone who loves gti's or is willing to give the old girl some tlc.
Now this post is just to kind of put the idea out and see what happens but ill run through what she has to offer and see what you guys think.
Only the Blue Temp sensor and blowing exhaust have been nessesary fixes anything else i did to prolong the life and just to renew.
white 1990 gti 8v 5 door
142,000 miles with plenty of reciepts.
At 141,000 had Engine flush and new oil (gtx magnatec), filter, bosch super dooper plugs and splitfire ht leads. Also changed Gearbox oil, rotor and cap, Blue temp sensor and a full tune up.
K and N 57i kit
A chip has been put in which cost a fortune.
Changed all the gearbox linkages except the gearstick which i have ready to do.
Shes also had both wishbones and bushes replaced along with rear wheel bearings, (have front ones ready to do).
I have replaced the exhaust system with a full stainless from manifold back (mongoose system)
The car has 15'' Alloys from the mk3 vr6 i think not really sure but they are gen VW. 4 good tyres with continentals on rear.
The interior is very clean with the odd small mark but hardly noticable, the drivers bolster is a little bent but not ripped or too badly damaged.
The exterior is not bad but does need a little work in places, the car is solid but there are some rusty spots on front doors (bottom of)and by front of rear arch. The car has had new chrome badges and gti badge.
At some point she has had a small prang which had dent front wing and damaged the bumper, the wing has been repaired but the bumper is pushed slightly in and needs changing really. The colour of the wing is slighly off but not too noticeable but with the whole car getting a good polish and wax i dont think it will matter too much.
There you go my little project car, dont have time to do as much as i wanted like bodywork which is on list after all the mechan stuff i wanted to change.
i have new parts ready to go but havent been able to do it yet:
sachs clutch and bearing
cambelt and tensioner
All the engine mounts
front bearings
bumper bracketsfew other bits and bobs
what you think guys? if i was to swap it would have to be a 5 door.
