Hi everyone,
Great forum you have here. Just wanted to introduce myself as I've just put down a deposit on an approved used '07 mk V R32 (5 door). Hopefully will take delivery next week.
I was looking for something small to drive daily and the mini is just proving too harsh and uncomfortable as its suspension is just too hard. That plus the fact that I love 4WD cars, I just had to have an R32. The thought of an S3 did cross my mind but I just couldn't live with the lack of back doors. I also love the sound of the V6!
I'm sure I'll enjoy my time here and may ask some pathetic questions to begin with, but I'll also try and use the search button.
Look forward to seeing you all around.
Alex

Welcome Alex!! Good to see another R32 on here
Nice garage too
-
Welcome - The R32 does sound nice but how does it compare to a RS4 or a M400
-
Thanks guys,
The RS4 does indeed sound nice, but I love both V6 and V8 sounds equally. Not really sure how to explain it but they each have their own unique character and I don't find the V6 inferior just because it has less cylinders. The standard R32 sounds a lot nicer than a standard M400 in my opinion. Modified exhausts give the M400 a better sound but even then, a milteked R32 is hard to beat.
I guess a miltek may well be my first mod, although I don't tend to mod an awful lot.

Welcome to the forum alex, looks like you got a great taste in cars, RS4 is one of my favourites

niec, where about in london u from
-
Welcome Alex,
As the others have already mentioned - some lovely motors there!
I'm sure we'll take any type of questions in our stride (ahem - keep it legal  )

Thanks T88OM and Steve and Hurdy,
Steve, not a million miles away from you. I'm in Harrow. Where do you take your Edition 30 (very nice btw) for servicing? I want to find a good dealer in the area. The only one I know is Colindale VW. Although their servicing dept may be better, their sales needs a LOT of work.
Watford has a nice new audi dealership which I haven't tried yet.

i go to watford city gate, its in bushy tho i believe, just by the bushy archs... and their stupid there so dont bother going... lol

'06 B7 RS4 saloon - Daytona Grey
'07 Mk V R32 - Diamond Black
'07 BMW 120d SE - Sapphire black
'05 Mini Cooper S JCW - Blackeye purple
How many cars do you own man!!!!!!
-
You can only drive one at a time! (Do I sound jealous?)
-
Maxamus and indublin you're absolutely right, I have a hoarding problem. Far too many cars at the moment but in my defence, the mini is going up for sale very very soon as I just won't need it anymore.
The RS4 will follow () to hopefully make way for either an RS6 () or a GT-R () in 2009. It'll take a LOT to beat the RS4 though. Its the type of car you just want to keep forever.

sr4 is the older mans car (im 23) but its sooo nice! the sound is great
-
you must have some serious money !

Doesn't sound promising in terms of VW dealers around here then
I haven't been to an MK cruise. Didn't know they existed. I do go to the pistonheads london tunnel runs though when I'm free. Does anyone here go? Great events.

Sadly no, mine is not a JCW GP, it is the 210bhp Cooper S JCW:

The JCW suspension is just rock hard, but it handles very very well.

Thanks, not such a great backdrop for the pic but its the only one I have at hand. The RR day sounds good, I may be able to come along. I'll check with the other half and if free, I'll put my name down. I'd like to see what the R32 is producing as standard.

Thanks Manu, will definitely post up some pics next week. Thanks re:cars. It is an addiction and a lot of fun but also a way of losing a lot of money. Now that I've turned 30, I'm going to have to wind it down and become sensible, especially with kids on the way. The R32, I'm hoping, is the first step towards that.

Bastard's only just turned 30 tooo! Bolix really jelous now!
