This is going to sound totally boy racer, but i was thinkin about gettin the 150bhp 1.8 turbo gti, can it have a dump valve to go www tish?
Laugh at me you may, but im sure there is 2 types, and one does, one doesnt.
Cheers
-
it can....i think forge provide one that provides the recirculation like the boch divertor and emmits a sound, be wary of other dump valves as they will effect the ecu as they wont divert/recirculate the air as the standard part does, im still learning with these thinsg so im sure someone else can clarify for me!
here is the forge part

That looks like what i was looking for, Mk4 could be the next car :nerd: puerly on the turbo! haha......
Thank you
-
turbos are awesome, its my first and i love everything from the whine when speeding to the pssst you get when changing gear (although as standard its subtle and with the 007 non exsistent) then theres the boost and the potential to tune to your hearts content! id say go for it mate! although im sure i wont be saying that when mine dies lol. im getting remap tomos from custom code so i'll be posting to tell of the results stay tuned
-
Awesome, cheers, i have a mk3 8v. So i would love the 0-60 of the turbo, but mainly the WWW TISH as you piss all over a saxo with lexus lights. lol
-
haha saxos i remember the days when i used to duel with them in my polo! those were the days  The boyracer types like corsas, puntos and the likes of tend to keep their distance these days haha i wonder why!
-
in my mk3 8v i stilll cant piss on them, so its all good fun!!

Correct me if im wrong but surely the 0-60 is not that different between the two, 1.8T 8 SECS ? MK3 8V 9 SECS ?
-
all i know is saxos are like annoying flys on my drive home and they mostly stay behind me ashamed of what they are  and how they look!

My 8v really dont pull 9secs though. And its 115bhp not 150bhp, and the 16v and vr6 are higher insurance groups, sooo 1.8t is the same as my 8v, and being 19, insurance is what swings it for me! Plus the WWWW TISH
-
yessss  embrace the 1.8t as your new god! it wont make you sad just make sure you sacrifice money to its upkeep on a regular basis
-
who knows..... Mk3 section might dis own me now...
-
haha only because they all know in thier hearts theyd like to do it as well
-
Never...rather spend £4000 supercharging my vr then become a big fat mk4er...
-

Taken from http://www.letstorquebhp.com/fwd.asp
Volkswagen Golf 1.8T Gti 150 - 8.51
Volkswagen Golf Gti 8v 3dr (MK3) - 10.44
Take these readings with a large pinch of salt, but you get the jist.
-
I got the forge split-r valve and the whoosh on it is the nuts!
-
Hang on, how can a 1.8T 150 be in the same insurance groupe as 2.0 8v 115. I know my MK4 2.0 8v isnt, its lower.

I don't know about the Mk3, but the std 1.8T 150 is 8.5 secs. Get it re-mapped, though, & the 1.8T's hit the bencmark sprint in 6/6.5 secs!

They are both group 14.

1.8t in a mk3 is quicker than a mk4  will have to get it measured when mine is done

I would think so as the mk4 is fat and heavier than a mk3
-
i know

If i was able i would do a conversion, but i want the traction control and newer numberplate on the mk4 :undecided:
