how comes the 1.8 turbo 20v has a low 150bhp ??
ive been looking at motors in the same class and there kicking out over 200bhp standard shed any light anyone

Thats vw for you. Thay always keep the BHP down i suppose it makes the engine last longer? Anyway get youself a remap and you will have 200 BHP (depending which engine you get) :smiley:

No thay are not all the same, The early ones ie: AGU are 150 bhp, with a ko3 turbo then the anniversary model came with 180 BHP as Standard with a k03s turbo. After 03 all turbos were 180 bhp. :wink:

The varied BHP's across the 1.8T engines also has a lot to do with marketing of the VAG car portfolio. It allowed them to boost the BHP on audi's etc. to give them a prestige image (and pricetag).
