Title: Hey all
Post by: 08micsta on 16 January 2008, 13:11
Hey guys.

Been away fro a while and its good to be back. Nice to see the chat nonsense section has doubled in size and nice to see some new faces  (Or usernames if you are a perfectionist) around.

For all those who are addicted to this forum. I suggest GTI rehab. It worked for me. I have been clean for over a month.

I know this should probably be posted in the chat nonsense section but since MK5 is my home town thought I would say hi here.

Please excuse my sig. Its a bit out of date. Will post a new one up in the next few days.

From my side: I wish you the all the best for 2008. Sorry its a bit late.

Mike

Micsta!! Hello and welcome back to the forum! As you can see the sig you have made me is still hanging around at the bottom of my posts! How was your christmas and new year....

Hey there again Manu_GTI or is it Manu_R32 yet? How is it going with the R32? Due dates etc. Im glad to see you still like your sig. My christmas was chrissmassy and enjoyable and new years was peaceful until the fireworks started. And yours?

Welcome back to the forum Mike. Did you enjoy your time away?

To be honest. Being away felt odd. Normally use to getting to school etc. But at my mom I had no internet. Email. Etc. So its good to be back. Didnt miss to many posts.  And its nice catching up with everyone.

BTW, thanks for not moving this to chat nonsense. How is your GTi doing with all the mods etc. It must be so much fun to drive.

Mike

P.S- Will start with my signature tonight. Hopefully have it up soon. Just been hectic. Creating a website for my matric year. Organising school books etc and still trying to excersise a bit. Then still solving I.T problems with teachers who dont know how to work projectors  :embarassed:  and the list goes on. I cant wait to get out of school.

My christmas was good, abit different this year. I am not Christian so i dont really celebrate but was invited over to my friends house by his family for christmas lunch and stuff which was very nice! New years was also good. You see every year something happens to me on new years, last year i had an accident in the Clio, the year before i got wrecked outta my face and was arrested and this year...well i ripped a £900 BOSS Suit
Regarding to the car well i think its been about 4 weeks now since we signed the paper work and stuff so im waiting for a build date any time soon. As soon as i get a build date i think it will be about 6 to 8 weeks for delivery so i cant wait! Should be good and im very very looking forward to it

That sounds great. Luckily I dont ever get that bad luck thing except for my Birthday which was a screw up  :lipsrsealed: :embarassed:

And just got my first history assignment: 2000 word essay on heritage.... Guys help me out please. lol

Its interesting to see how many R32's are being sold second hand over here. They seem to be keeping their value though. In the long run over here in South Africa people seem to buy the R32 and then sell it soon after. Its price is similar to the old M3. So who is gonna have a R32 when they can have a M3?

Thanks for asking Mike,

Car is coming along slowly, but still a lot to do. I tend to procratinate a lot before making my mind up as I like to see all the options and select the best, rather than the cheapest.

Oh - get that sig fixed - don't you know it's bad luck to keep it like that after the 6th Jan

What else you got planned?

I thought that was all the modding you were doing?!

What else you got planned?

Full Milltek exhaust system
Forge DV (Awesome had the wrong one the first time I went)
Neuspeed torque arm insert

All of the above are on order and should be fitted in the near future.

Still debating coilovers
I've recently found out Quaife do a limited slip diff - so that may be on the cards
Still looking for the right brake upgrade.

By the time I've finished I could have probably had a turbo'd R32

Not 100% sure if im right but its worth a try, i think the car has a little computer or something and if the car is turning left, the outer wheel spins quicker than the inside wheel allowing the car to travel around the corner or turn quicker? Something along those lines i think? Remember reading it when i was considering getting myself a Megane R26....nice car imo....except the massive asss!!

Quaife LSD is a meachanical "fit and forget" LSD. It simply transfers power to the wheel with the most grip. It acts faster than the ESP in the golf and so works in harmony with it. It enables you to corner faster and accellerate faster. The traction control in the GTI (and others) actually REDUCES the power to the wheels as they lose grip and so having an LSD goes some way to counteracting a heavy right foot. :nerd:

Fitted it costs around £1,300.

So would i be right in saying that its not really going to increase you straight line speed??

You would see a definite benefit in straight line speed in the wet from a standing start and in the dry it can knock a couple of hundredths off your 0-60, but that's about it. The LSD is more about Broad blasts and trackday times rather than straight line drags. :nerd:
