Title: How Many Miles a Day?

My daily work commute currently consists of about 75 miles, so the daily mileage being put on the golf is racking up.

I was worried that I'm going to kill it before I've had time to properly enjoy it!

How many miles do you guys do in yours?

Post by: BaxGTI on 15 January 2008, 16:41: Daily, not that large. But most weekends I go from base to home and back, which is around 280 miles depending on which way I go. So usually do about 600-700 miles a week..

I know where you are coming from but hell, the car is there to be enjoyed, whats the point in treating her like a frigid trophy wife :grin:

but in the last 10 days ive done around 400 miles :rolleyes: wasted so much money on petrol lately.

Im hopeing its because ive only just passed my test and its a novelty atm :tongue: was with my bike anyways lol soon got bored of 45mph but the golf isnt comparable to a ped :evil:

Post by: Dougie_91 8v GTi on 16 January 2008, 15:55: Since March last year when I got her 5,090 miles, since October it's been just over a mile a day weekdays and 20-30 at weekends. I try and give her a good quarter of a tank run once a fortnight, with a run, then quick blast on some fun roads.

You could look at this the other way round and say that you would certainly kill it if it was left standing for ever and ever.

I've done a grand total of 72 miles in the golf since I got it. Dec 31st and that was drving it back from London

Post by: dadrathers on 18 January 2008, 19:47: Just completed our first year with our 91 spec 5 door - done around 5000 which is just about right. Not too much to wear it out too quickly but enough to keep it 'fit'. Its my wife's daily driver.
