Title: how much for mk2 gti with 2.0L engine?
Post by: warwick16v on 15 January 2008, 10:43
hi. how much would you offer for a mk2 gti with standard 2.0L gti engine already fitted? ive no idea, even ballpark figure what to offer. the body looks ok, may need some work, but unmodified. its a small bumper, c plate, and has no mot or tax. thanks

Scrap money, cos unless it's got an MOT then that's what it's worth - weigh-in money.

Also, until you've run it through an MOT station you don't know what scary monsters are going to jump out of the wood work when the tester gets busy, especially with his little poking stick - it might look OK, but there's a lot of places underneath which might yield to the pointed stick.

If he doesn't want to accept it then suggest he puts an MOT on it and then you'll pay more - that might change his attitude, especially if he bothers to take it to an MOT station and it comes back with a big fat failure list.
