Title: 2-Pin Electrical Connectors
Post by: Conker on 14 January 2008, 13:54
Sorry for multiple questions today - as you can probably tell, I'm sorting out loads of car stuff!

I bought these from VW to re-connect up my indicators (that were nicked!):

Now, I thought they would come with the metal contacts already inside, and then I would just crimp the wire inside it onto the contact, however there is no metal inside them!

So... What do I need to connect them to the male connector?

you'll need to ask your VW parts guy for the metal pins, or pinch some from another plug from scrappy

Bloody hell, the VW guy should have told me that. He already ripped me off by £8 for two bits of plastic

As per my pm vw sell the pins with lengths of wire attached ready to solder in, failing that you can buy just the terminals from vehicle wiring products however you will then need to buy the appropriate crimping tool

Cheers.

I think this might be the terminal I need - can anyone confirm this?:

looks similar, but I see no retaining pins on it, so it wont stay in the plug?

Thanks John - I've emailed the company to see what they say.
