Hi all,
Just hit 32,000 miles and the service warning is blinking merrily away.
Anyone know what I can expect to have changed / be charged by a main dealer for the service?
Car is 06-plate GTi if that matters.
Apologies for the simplicity of this question, but ive only ever had 'old-er' GTi's and the little village garage sorted them out!
Thanks! Jim

Should all be explained in the service manual, tells you whats changed at what mileage etc
-
Thanks, unfortunately as explained in one of my previous post's, VW managed to 'misplace' my service and log book during the service immediately before I bought the GTi!
Hence my rather simple question! Anyone have their log / service book easily to hand?

Not sure of detail - but certainly grease steering wheel and carpets

Oh and optional scratching and/or wash with an rag that has been in a bin of grit.
Ask for the €7 screen wash top up too and the 10km test burn drive.
Mine is in tomorrow so I dont know why I'm being so fecking smart.

In that case you would be looking at:-
Brake fluid service (recommended at 2 yrs)
If you have already had an interval service (2yrs or 20k miles) as you have past 20k then you should only need an oil change service.
I'm assuming you are on time and distance servicing regime though :undecided:
If neither yourself or your dealer can give any history of servicing then:-
1. I'd be worried.
2. I'd go for the interval service with the brake fluid change
According to the service booklet, if your car has already been serviced there should be a sticker on the driver's side door pillar.

Thanks for the information Hurdy, I always like to know what to expect when a service is being completed.
Yes im on time and distance.
As for the service history: The car was ex-demo from VW main dealer in Southend. It had a fully stamped service history up until the point that I purchased the car.
It had done 22,000 miles when I bought the car so I asked for a service to be done before I drove it away - this is the point at which the 'VW Service Engineers' (or monkeys as I like to affectionately call them) lost burnt destroyed ate 'misplaced' the log book.
Ive checked, the sticker is there, and I have a paper copy of the service history while I wait for a new log book to arrive, which they will then stamp up.
Its been a complete pain to sort it all out...especially as this is A: the first VW I have purchased that has cost more than £5k and B: the first VW that I have owned that is less than 4 years old!!

Not sure if this is of any use:

I just had my 1st service at 11.5k and they replaced the front discs, pads and tyres..

Thanks for the information (and neck ache!)
Looks like im due the oil change service then!
Cheers for the help guys!

I think I had 2 service books in my car, I will have a look at lunch time. If I have I will post it to you if you like!
-
That would be fantastic if you have!
Feel free to drop me a PM if you do have a duplicate book and ill gladly pay for the postage!
Quite appropriate as our GTi's appear to be identical twins!!

Got one spare, check your PM!
