Post by: Chris 'N' Jen on 13 January 2008, 20:05
Hey Y'all

Firstly, im having a bit of trouble deciding on some wheels. what do you all think these would look like on a black mk4? Id be thinking of 18" with a 40mm drop.

and

Does anyone know what they are called.

Cheers for that. I think the R8's look ok (not normally a fan of thin spokes) but as its a shared car - gues what - the significant other doesnt like them.

I like the R32 wheels but - i was a bit botherd i would get slated for attempting to dress a 2.0 up as an r32. Still considering them though.

That does look well mate. nice looking motor you got there. deffo needs to sit a bit lower though imo.

Cheers for the pics too, i hate choosing wheels for a car, but love it when they are on.

suppose  :undecided:

The significant other thinks they look good too. Dont think she is totally convinced yet tho. I think it ll be a toss up between the ones in the first post and the R32's.

What sort of coin should i be looking at for a lowering kit then. Iv read somewhere its best to replace springs and shocks as the ride can be "lumpy" on standard shocks. True?

yep, deffo replace the standard shockers as you'll find that the uprated springs will wear them out quicker

I love those wheels you have on the bora. seen it in your sig before. they look amaizing on a black car. Been meaning to ask you what they were but kept on forgetting. Do you have any closer pics of the bora, i know i have a golf but it will give me a better idea of what they will look like fitted.

Cheers for the link leeroy. i like these too. been looking for ages for some of these. obvioustly not it the right place  :embarassed:

As before, i need to please the significant other aswell and as it happens she aint a fan on thinner spokes so might have to sway in the direction of the nouvolari.

Cheers for the replys guys

I was undecided on those tbh, if you asked last week i might have said yes. But now its a tossup between the 2 in the prev post and R32 style methinks.

Im hoping to order mid feb sometime to get the most of the winter out the way. Ill get some up when its done.

Cheers

Saw a mk 4 recently-with brand new shape r32 wheels-looked stunning, plus its a different wheel to what everyone seems to be using these days-Thats been the age old thing about golfs,as good a car as they are-its hard trying to make them individual,Stand out from the crowd mate, try something different....set a trend dont follow one.
