THIS IS NOT ANOTHER LEAK THREAD I HAVE SEARCHED IT IS NOT THE EFFING MEMBRANES BEFORE ANYONE SAYS.
Would the roof lining and the sunroof panel have stains to match the idea.. I've got nothing on the roof anywhere.. everythings dry. But the bottom of the door cards are damp inside.. the card is NOT WET INSIDE ONLY THE CLOTH. IT IS NOT THE MEMBRANES and the drivers carpet behind the seat and underneath is pretty wet to.. seems to be surface water gradually stocked up.. instead of being swimming tho, have got a new sunroof seal I plan to fit, to, but didn't want to do that if a drainage might be blocked.. and even then.. is why Im wondering if I would see water stain anywhere which I don't it's not as if it's bene dripping from up above..
I do live on a road with a lot of camber admitted.. and a slight hill to it.. maybe as I've been in ill and not mvoed the car.. window coulda been slightly open.. but the shape of the door shuts in a d5 door to me scream water collection, and the way they run off, it could jsut be getting in a little..
oh and we have ahd some pretty horrendous rain have we not? :laugh:

check the drainage holes under the plastic at the back of the engine bay are clear - take off plastic cover and get the scuttle whistle clean. Only a little bit of muck can stop them draining.

Would that not mean that the front would be wet though? both front footwells are squeaky clean, as I cleared up the scuttle a couple of months ago :wink:

its doubtful its the sunroof if the roof lining is dry, it might be the door isnt shutting against the roof guttering seal properly. Does water sit on the sill rubber when you open the door? failing that i would say double check door membranes as they only need a slight leak to soak everything with a lot of rain. good luck i share your pain every golf i have had has leaked like a sieve. :angry: i am currently trying to sort some too. Worst thing about these cars imo.

it'll likely be your door alignment if its still as bad as before...
