Does any one Know what the black plastic holder is on the lefthand side of the boot on a 1997 vr6 must have some use but cant think what.
-
It's for a warning triangle and first aid kit i believe. Never seen a mk3 with them in place though.
Look through the owners manual, i think there's a little pic in there.
It's quite useful for storing footballs aswell.

^ yup, mine didnt have one when i got it :)
guess they're there from new though.
-
probably a cost option!! :o
-
the stealership next door often leaves the boots right open in hot weather, i'll peek in their cars.. lol
-
Thanks for that guys, I was begining to wonder what that was for! :)

It's also quite handy for stowing a 12 pack of your favourite lager. It doesn't offset the fact that for a car called the Golf the boot is f**king horrendous for putting golf clubs in however. Seriously VW, it's quite a popular sport, even in Germany - it's not inconcievable that a golfer will buy a Golf is it? The only scant consolation is the boot in the Mk4 is even more ridiculous for your sticks.

Damn right! I have to take my driver out every time. It's really annoying.
At least it's funny watching polo drivers trying to fit the horse in.......
