Am after a bit of advice about fitting a tow bar to my big bumpered golf.
Before anyone starts it's so I can pull a motorcycle trailer, it's either this or buy something with a tow bar on it (306 D Turbo Estate? )
Am i right in thinking the only way to do it without cutting a hole in my current bumper is to get a genuine VW bumper iron with Tow bar attached?
Does anyone have one of these they'd like to sell?
Or is there anywhere other than the stealership to get one from? And will the existing skin fit on this different bumper iron?
Otherwise anyone got any experience doing this or where to get one from? Local guy says "cut hole in bumper" and thats it apparently!
Cheers!

i had this problem too. same reason.
idea .i bought a small bumper with a tow bar fitted. just takes two minuets to remove the big bumper and same to replace. easy as that and still a good big bumper

The bloke who I bought my Golf off also decided that the best way to fit a towbar was to cut a great big whole in my nice bumper:(

I'm pretty sure it is the only way on big bumpers.

Damn thats a shame! Cheers for the comments though.
I think I'm tempted by having a replacement small bumper to stick on!

i put a towbar on mine. i went for a brink swaneck which cost more but you only have to cut a small hole.
looks much better than the flange type.
