Title: Plug gaps on a 16v?
Post by: Chris-White on 09 January 2008, 12:32
As above, what should the plug gaps be for a 16v engine?

Ive lost my haynes book of lies and the plugs have been bashed about a bit in transit meaning they arent all the same gap. They are bosch 'super' plugs, single prong type.

get tripple probe ones instead, you'll never have that problem again!  I thought proper 16v plugs were all tripple prong anyway...

ah i just did a quick searchy and gsf now sell you these single plug ones over their old bosch tripple prong ones.  If it was me I'd get tripples from http://www.vwspares.co.uk, cos my mates had no end o troubles with single proibes from gsf bein bashed out o spec.  But heres the answer to your question:
16V - Champion C6BYC or C6YCC - 0.8 mm

Cool thanks.
Will whack these ones in for now as im very tightly budgeted at the moment and just want a set of plugs to get my 2ltr up and running to sort out the timing and set up. Will get a set of triple prongers once i have the fundage :)

well tbh a sparks a spark, as long as it comes at the right time its all good.  just saying that tripple probes save you the hassle of checkin the plug gaps :)

only advantage triplpoles have apart from that is they last longer!
