Title: hubs for the 280mm brake upgrade...
Post by: dabill on 06 January 2008, 19:27
righty chaps and chapettes,

having the big brakes conversion on my car, you know the one, 280mm ones with the calipers etc...

well, i need the hubs upgrading as mine is the 8v... so, i've been let down by a scrap yard on some, and im struggling to find a place to get some from, quick question..

what other cars, other than the mk2 16v can i get the correct hubs from?

at a guess, the

mk3 16v or 8v
carrado 16v
passat maybe

any others?

cheers

rob

Yeah, Passat or Corrado will see you right.  There's at least two Passats with the correct hubs in Yate Breakers just north of Bristol and I should imagine plenty more closer to Sheffield!

When you've finished let us know how much of a different it makes - seems like it might be a worthwhile thing to do...
