open the door. you see that weird indent on the B pillar and no one knows what it's there for?
well I do ;D
-
What do you want a medal? ;)
-
Which bit is the B pillar? Is that like the bit near where the front seatbelt is bolted to?
-
The pillars from the front of the car are denoted A, B and C.
A is windscreen
B is door pillar
C is the rear pillar

:) well for the less educated of us please carry on and tell us!!!!!!! ???
-
i reckon it's been an idea VW have had for a 2nd door mechanism - which would basically stop the window frame being bent out by would be thiefs.
so the handle would release two locks rather than the std one
i had a look on the ETKA to see if there was a part for it, but it just had the black grommits for the hole
-
it's for the US style seatbelts that tighten when you get in. weird f**king design though.
I think I'm gonna get it removed anyway when it next visits the bodyshop. just to tidy it up.
btw, Danny Allen told me that.
-
Yeah, I can vouch for that, I have a 91 US golf I use as a donor car. Don't ask me how it got over here or why. :)
The thing wouldn't start until you put your seatbelt on ;D
-
I'm probably being stupid, but i really can't see how the hell that would work!!? Take a photo of your US golf GTI BOY?
-
I think they plug then into the socket near the mirror and then they go along the top of the door and hold you tight like that.
-
they have got horrible indicators in the wings as well :P
