I notice a few people say they've had screwdrivers under handles etc... I thought i'd show you what i've done to deter the no-lifes.

Its a set of high security locks. These are great because they dont really stand out all that much, are like i said high security... If its a hot day, you can leave your window open more than you would normally, cause they can't unlock them with a screwdriver, so it stays a bit cooler!! I'm not suggesting that these are better than armour door plates ("I" think they are!!), but together with... that gives you more piece of mind. Also, most of you with alarms have it, but a flashing LED in one of your blank buttons looks like you have an alarm, which deters most!! Let me know what you think...

just my personal opinion, but you've totally lost the plot.
first you should of fitted armour door plates
then if you buy the el' cheapo amour then fit anti-slimjim plates.
remote the door pins from the insides or fit smooth ones
maybe de-lock it if you have remote entry
sorry to hear of your misfortune dude.

No, my car hasn't been broken into. I have these on my car for like the last 14 years.
-
If that doesn't work you could always try a padlock on the door like Mr Beans Mini.
-
Or keep a big dog in the back ;D.
-
theres a guy that parks outside my house each day (parking zone so costs money) in a mark 2 16v with a dog on the back seat. The cars absolutely mint, i asked if he'd sell it but he said no. He comes and walks it a lunch time. the dog that is, not the car lol :D

LMAO :) I might be trying that myself if the armour door plates dont work !

Im going to remove my door handels competely in the summer. Thieves cant into a car with no handles ;D
-
fair play to yah matey owt is better than nowt, although i have amour plates round my handles and have taken the door pins out and put led's in there place
if a thief wants it hell take it, glass will go through and it will be gone, my advice is dont leave your car in a dodgey area, or if you do have to use your second car (like i do!! i never leave my mk4 anywhere!!, but i dont give a toss about the mk2, lol) or better still somebody elses!!!, prevention is the key to var crime, dont leave in a dodgey minging area, dont leave valuables on display, remove and take stereo fasicas with yas, and bung as many crook locks etc on as you can!!
Gaz
also leave some kind of weapon on display (base ball bat/snooker cue/duster etc) then they know the owner is a fruit cake and wont darest nick/rob it lol!!

Some good advice, but they tried to do mine over the other week and it was outside my house, thing is, it's not a dodgy area but most thieving scratters don't dump on their own door step do they, they wonder off elsewhere. If someone wants it and they have the time, they'll get it you just need to make it as hard for them as possible, and by doing this you are saying, dont bother with mine, go try and nick someone elses, but it's the way of the world :(
Like the weapon on display idea though ;D

The way I've got around anyone breaking in to my vehicles in the last few years is never to leave anything visible in the car in the first place.

I don't leave anything on display at all, but they still had a go at it :(
Wire cars up to the national grid, that's my answer ! :)
But then I guess I'd get done for assault or something and have to pay them compo :(

are those keypads good that sit infrontof the gear stick wher eu need to pump a number in to start it

If you don't leave anything in the car, then nothing is gonna stop them, short of leaving ED209 guarding your vehicle.

"stand away from the car and put your crowbar down, you have 10 seconds to comply......"
