Title: Just ordered an Edition 30
Post by: Paul72s on 05 January 2008, 14:29
Hi all,

I have just ordered a black Edition 30 in Black with a few extras.

This is to say thanks as although I haven't previously posted this site has been invaluable for knowledge (for instance the dealer offered free mats until I pointed out that it came with them anyway!)

The test drive proved what people on the site say, what a car!

This is my first Golf after driving an S2 111s Lotus Elise for a year - although the standing acceleration and cornering are not as good the power over 40mph is awesome on the Golf an its all round ability is fantastic.

The wait is going to kill me!

The dealership is stating 12 weeks, maybe even 14.  Just have to put up with it I guess, should be worth the wait!

Same here - ordered mine on 6th November and it arrived at the dealers on 2nd Jan.  I pick it up sometime this coming week.  Fortunately I had Christmas to take my mind off it and to stop me getting too excited! It has made the time go quicker too!

That is great news as I am without a car at the moment so a (possible) March delivery would be a big bonus not only to me but the guy's in my work car pool!

Hi Paul,

Welcome to the MKV section

Excellent choice of car. What extras have you chosen? Did you go for manual or DSG (My bet would be manual as your last car was an Elise.

I bet you found it hard getting the lads in the car pool out of (and into) your Elise though

I went for a manual, 3 door.  Extra's were centre armrest, multi-function wheel, electric folding mirrors (my parking space is tight) and the multi-media socket.

There was so much more I wanted but I got it down to just these.

The lads in the car pool are glad they won't be getting any more bad backs and I can take more than one of them in at once now!

congrats!

The mirrors do not fold that much, but enough to let me get inside my very narrow garage opening (with unfolded mirrors I am not able to get in).
