This isnt a mechanical fault but in a way its worse as its in my face everytime i get into the car.....i was helping my mate move some stuff from his old house the other day, and when he was loading in some furniture he snagged the rear seat and ripped it  now this doesnt sound like much of a big deal but its really bugging me having a tear there......sooooo does anyone know if i can get a replacement to the bottom part of the rear seat, am i looking at a hunt round some scrapyards or is there a warmer less scarpyard like option.....

I dont actually know if just the bottom parts come off, but if its does do a search of ebay or google for someone that is "breaking" their mk4 and im sure you can find one.

yeah ...if u lift the lower seats up u can see a big metal clip that hold the seat in place ,the clips is similar to the clips the hold headlight bulb but much bigger ....

Have you tried yell.com for some local interior trimmers/repairers? There's a firm around my way called 'Image' who'd probably be able to repair a tear.
