Everyone knows that the GTI/ED 30 brakes are only adequate at best but recently I noticed that when I pump the brakes the pedal becomes firmer, bites higher and increases stopping power.
The car has been to the dealer and they said nothing was wrong, they bled the brakes and it seemed a little better but pumping them still makes them firmer and stronger (very powerful in fact).
If you haven't experienced this then go out and try it in your car and see what you think.
Has anyone got a fix without huge outlay on dinner plate discs and monster calipers???

Braided hoses instead of the rubber ones should give you a firmer pedal feel.
Neuspeed do some at under £100

At this rate I'm going to have to ask Awesome for commission

Have you considered the AP setup. I've heard quite a few bad reports on Porsche brakes (when fitted to a Porsche) and some first hand experience. My friends boxster has been back numerous times for pads and pistons sticking.
The Brembo's fitted to Cupras are another option that you can pick up for about £700.

Yes i have also been looking at the S3 brakes, they are also 345mm and i can get them for 850 euro

is this the MK1 ? as the MK2 doesn't have Brembo's

Yep the Mk1. They go on without to much drama, gotta love the VAG parts bin.

I have found the AP Racing brakes to be absolutely faultless over thousands of miles on all types of roads and conditions both in the UK and Europe.
Better to have them and not always need them, than to need them and simply not have them!! They don't fade, they don't snatch, and their stopping power is awesome providing your tyres are good and subject to road surface conditions.
